The automatic daily screening of clients against Latvian, EU, UN and OFAC, UA and UK sanctions lists is ensured using public databases maintained by the relevant competent institutions.When a match is detected, the platform will send a notification about the match to the e-mail address specified during registration. The platform allows to process the matches by determining whether the detected match is true or false.
The aml.plus platform uses Levenstein's algorithm to search for matches with sanction lists, which helps to find matches with the specified accuracy of 90 %.
For companies registered in Latvia the aml.plus platform provides integration with the Enteprise Register of the Republic of Latvia, and if data of the persons associated with the company is updated, you will be duly notified about it. If the platform user has not previously clarified the board, beneficial owners and shareholders in companies registered in other jurisdictions and entered their names in the questionnaires for verification against the sanctions, automatic verification will not be carried out. Sanctions screening is carried against Latvian, EU, UN, OFAC, UA and UK sanctions lists.
Performing sanctions screening or Know Your Customer (KYC) checks on the aml.plus platform for companies registered in Latvia, specifying the company registration number and selecting the country, Latvia, the aml.plus platform automatically obtains information about the company members, beneficial owners and officials from the Enterprise Register of the Republic of Latvia. The mentioned information is downloaded to the questionnaire of the person to be checked and is also checked against sanctions on a regular, daily basis. If there have been changes in the company data, then the data of the verified person entered in the aml.plus platform are updated according to the changes. The platform user receives a notification that changes have been detected in the customer's data.
It is possible to carry out sanctions checks in the form of a list, by preparing a list of customers in a csv file and uploading this list to the platform. A questionnaire will be created for each person to be checked, and regular/daily sanctions checks will be carried out.
Based on the data provided by filling out the client questionnaire and the client risk assessment survey, the platform designates the recommended risk level of the client. The platform user can set a different client risk level for the client, separately evaluating the client's risk-increasing factor/s and/or taking some de-risking measures.
Transactions (Know Your Transaction - KYT) - research, evaluation of planned or performed client transactions. Verification of the parties involved in the transaction against sanctions lists: The persons entered in the verification form (transaction counterparty/ bank) are checked against the sanctions lists of LV, EU, UN, OFAC, UA and UK. By answering the questions specified during the verification, it is determined whether or not signs of a suspicious transaction have been detected in the transaction.
